Two of the chapters from David Sousa (Editor) “Mind, brain, and education” focus on reading. As you know, a major goal in education is to help students learn to read well enough so that they can learn by reading. It is a major landmark in a child’s education when reading skills develop to a level that learning by reading begins to dominate other aids in formal schooling.
