Probably you have heard derisive comments about a writer’s statement that, “He jumped on his horse and rode off in all directions.” The criticism is that it is not possible to ride off in all directions. The writer should be more precise.

The title of this Blog entry is a widely used phrase that can be traced back to the late 1960s or early 1970s and has an environmental focus. An alternate title for this Blog entry is, “Consider both the big picture and the small picture when making decisions and taking actions.”
